“Be Careful, Little Eyes” written by C. Herbert Woolston, an American Methodist minister and composer, is on target with excellent advice!
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16
Be careful little eyes, what you see, Be careful little ears, what you hear,
Be careful little tongue, what you say, Be careful little hands what you do,
Be careful little feet where you go, Be careful little heart whom you trust,
Be careful little mind what you think, Be careful little eyes, what you see,
Be careful little ears, what you hear, Be careful little tongue, what you say,
Be careful little hands what you do, Be careful little feet where you go,
Be careful little heart whom you trust, Be careful little mind what you think,
We tell our children what they should do. Often we warn them “to do as we say, not as we do”. We tell them not to listen to trash talk. We give them advice, hoping they will stay out of trouble. But the best guidance we can give them is from the Bible. And the best place we can take them is to church! We must teach our children to: “Trust in the Lord with all their heart; and lean not unto there own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” Proverbs 3:7
There you have it in a nutshell!
Blessing,
Van
